How to know if your dam is in heat?
– Swelling of the vulva (Private part of dam)
– Blood discharge from her genital
If there is no blood discharge (So called silent heat )
– Swelling of the vulva (Private part of dam) is still noticeable
– Behavioral changes such as humping with another dogs or even your legs, she may also lick her private part a lot
When is the BEST TIME for your dam to have a stud?
– It is usually from 9th to 14th day of dam’s heat. Count starting from day 1 of heat
– When bright red blood discharge turns PINKISH or CREAM-COLORED
– When you tap the dam’s genital and she holds her tail off to the side called FLAGGING
For silent heating dam:
– You can do the tapping of the dam’s genital or go to your veterinarian to do SMEAR TESTING to know when is the best time for your dam to have a stud
